  • Originally built in the late 12th century, Borgholm Castle was rebuilt a number of times over the centuries. Located south of the town of Borgholm on the Swedish island of Öland, the ruins that stand today are the remains of a Baroque Castle that was built by King Karl X Gustav in the middle of the 17th century and that was destroyed by fire in 1806.
